} The Musician's Collective- Rajasthan Roots

Rajasthan’s musical roots are immersed in tradition and culture that stems from centuries of expression. There are many talented individuals, collectives that have made a mark on Rajasthan’s artistic map and one such is Rajasthan Roots. It was in 2005 when Adi Das under the mentorship of John and Faith Singh decided to initiate a platform for local/folk artistes to express their music, their creative energies thereby dissolving boundaries to be free.

Rajasthan Roots since then has been bringing contemporary interpretation of folk music by incorporating international production standards, introducing warmth and depth using bass, vocal harmonies etc., and allowing traditional instruments the space to pulsate to modern electronic grooves. They have been part of TV shows such as the Coke Studio- season 3, the Dewarists where they have wowed audiences with their genius. Their Live Acts at the Esperanzah World Music Festival, Festival de la cite in Switzerland, tours of Austria, Germany, USA, collaborations with folk freak band Coco Rosie, bringing the house down at Blue Frog have made them brilliant performers all round.

Rajasthan Roots involves local artisans, poets, vocalists, organizes music fests, local talent hunts and regional festivals attracting scores of undiscovered talent as they move along. This fusion of arts, crafts, folk lore and gifted artistes from all genres has made Rajasthan Roots a must on the annual music calendar of the country thereby gaining immense recognition for their awesome effort.
