} Vyjayanthi Kashi And The Art Of Indian Kuchipudi Dance



Vyjayanthi Kashi is an Indian Kuchipudi dancer, a dance synonymous with Andhra Pradesh. She is from the family of Dr Gubbi Veeranna who was an Indian theatre director, one of the pioneers and most prolific contributors to Kannada theatre. Besides being a dancer, Kashi is also a celebrated performer and choreographer and the artistic director of the Shambhavi School of Dance. Apart from that she is also the chairperson of the Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy.

Vyjayanthi’s career spans over an impressive spectrum of performance, teaching, acting, choreography, research and organizing. The brilliant dancer has also featured in several National and International festivals and has performed in 18 countries. She has done many documentaries and interviews on television. Some of the channels which have featured her skills and talents are Doordarshan, Sony Television, Zee TV, E-Nadu, Udaya and Chandana. She is also the brainchild behind India’s first ever international dance fair: Dancejathre
